Vineyard

Planted in April 2020 on the initiative of Ernest-Tom and Léopold Loumaye, the 11.5 hectare vineyard of Château d’Annevoie is located in the Haute Meuse. The vineyard faces south and south-west on a predominantly clay-limestone soil with touches of slate and sand. The four white grape varieties (Johanniter, Solaris, Cabernet blanc and Sauvignac) are used to produce two still white wines and one white wine using the traditional method. Cabaret Noir is the only red grape variety on the estate. Thanks to these resistant grape varieties, organic farming has been practised since the plantation in order to respect the exceptional terroir of the site. The vinification and elaboration of the wine are exclusively carried out in a cellar installed in the old barn of the castle and are entirely based on the long experience of Damien Briard from Namur to create an exceptional, local and environmentally friendly product.

Our approach

Annevoie is dedicated to producing high-quality natural wines that reflect the uniqueness of each vintage. Our winemaking process is rooted in tradition and a deep respect for the natural processes of the vineyard. We use only the best grapes, grown using sustainable and organic farming methods. The grapes are harvested by hand at peak ripeness, ensuring the highest quality.

Our winemaking process is driven by a passion for nature and a commitment to producing wines that are truly unique and expressive. In the winery, we use minimal intervention techniques to preserve the natural flavors and aromas of the grapes. We roll up our sleeves and let the grapes ferment naturally. This process can take several weeks, but it results in wines that are authentic, complex and true to their origins.

Our vision

Our vision is to create a world where wine is valued not only for its taste, but also for its connection to the land. We believe that wine should reflect its terroir and the uniqueness of each vintage. We strive to be a sustainable and ethical company that celebrates the natural beauty and diversity of the vineyard while producing wines of the highest quality.

We will realize our vision by continuing to innovate and evolve our wine production while remaining true to our values and producing wines that are pure, natural and full of character. Therefore, starting with the 2023 vintage, in addition to nettle manure (introduced in 2022), horsetail will be introduced to promote the natural defenses of the vines and to minimize the conventional products of organic cultivation. The trend in cultivation is moving toward the fundamentals of biodynamics, but is not limited to them.
